Two little terrors

I went to Campbell Town Show on 30th May, just after all Meg's puppies had gone off to their new homes.  (Campbell Town has a Smithfield section each year, the only "Show" for the dogs and a get-together for their owners and any other interested people).

I had no thoughts of getting any other dogs at present, but there were two available girl puppies.  (Their dad is 'Dodger',  a close relation to Cleo's grandmother 'Frosty').  Well the puppies both came home with me - one has gone to friends in the south of the state (Blossom), and one has stayed here (Patch).  A photo of each of the girls is below, taken at 31/2 months old.  Then the next one is of their dad.

Cleo in Southern Tasmania

Cleo has been living in Hobart since December 2008.

In Summer her coat was clipped off, good for swimming and quick drying.  She looks like she was born to be a Canoe Skipper! (Photo right)

I visited Cleo and her family in Winter of 2009 and took the two photos at left.  You can see that she is maturing beautifully, she will soon be 3 years old.  She is on the garden bench with Liz (left), and eating a pear she found (it's between her paws) - that fell off one of the trees (left below).  Being Winter she is in her full coat.

Ted goes to Queensland

This photo (at left) shows 'Ted', now living with Dave in Queensland.  The property runs mainly cattle, with a few sheep and some miniature horses.  Ted settled in nicely and has become a full-time working member of Dave's team.

As well as farm work, he has also begun doing some 3-sheep and short course trials, already with some success.  He has created a lot of interest in the Tasmanian Smithfield breed, and become something of a talking point.  His happy and friendly nature has won him lots of admirers.  There is an album of his photos from his younger days on the 'Photos' page.

Obedience

Kay and David with 5 month old litter brothers 'Hamish' and 'Dexter' are regular visitors for some obedience tips to keep their gorgeous boys on the straight and narrow.
